Setting up a Lama user in Amazon Seller Central
As your 3PL provider, it is imperative that we pick, pack and ship your orders as promised to your customers. Amazon, in particular, operate very strict rules to ensure the customer delivery promise is met – those Sellers that offend often have their Seller Central account suspended or worse, closed.
Although our platform pulls in all the relevant order and shipping data from Amazon, we do not leave this to chance and always insist that we have a limited privilege user account for all our clients’ Amazon Seller Central accounts to ensure we have a real-time view of the order data from within Amazon – this ensures that no orders are missed.
Additionally, when using Seller Fulfilled Prime services, we can manually “Buy Shipping” from within Amazon, if needed, rather than through our platform.
To set up a user please login to Seller Central and navigate to Settings > User Permissions :-
You will then be taken to the User Permissions page – here you need to add a new user :-
Please insert Virtual Logistics in the Name field and controldesk@virtuallogistics.co.uk in the Email Address field and press the Invite button.
This will trigger an automated email from Amazon, to our controldesk email.
Once we’ve accepted the status the User Permissions for the newly generated account will change from Open Invitations to Current Users.
You may get this message :-
It should only take a few minutes for Amazon to approve the account and you may be notified by email.
Once approved, you’ll need to Manage Permissions
The Manage User Permissions page is pretty extensive and by default all permissions and privileges for a new user are set to None.
As your 3PL we need to access the Orders so we can determine, for sure, what orders need to be shipped and when and to have access to Buy Shipping.
Please navigate to the Orders section in the Manage User Permissions page :-
Please select as illustrated (View & Edit)
Once selected, click the Continue button – a message should pop up saying the permissions have been saved.
In certain circumstances and for some clients, Virtual Logistics may be responsible for more than just order management, therefore other privileges will have to be set.
Once confirmed, your Seller Central Account should show as a store within our login and we’ll be able to manage your orders.
